Product Manufacturer Product Description and Principal Function(s) Demain DT Series Cordless Drill10mm and 13mm Power-Tite™ chuck 12V, 14.4V, 18V, 19.2V The Demain DT Series Cordless Drill has revolutionary market first features and design, to make it arguably the safest and easiest to operate cordless drill on the market. The Power-Tite chuck spins internally eliminating moving parts and damage to surfaces, also provides a safer and more comfier grip whilst drilling and screw fastening. The Power-Tite™ chuck has a mechanical chuck adjust mechanism which easily opens and closes the jaws of the chuck. Once selected in chuck adjust position, the Jaws will open and close with forward and reverse operation. Key Product Features and Benefits The Demain DT Series Cordless Drill deserves to win an Australian Design award because its design and patented features will influence and change Cordless drill design globally from here on in.The DT series Drill functional prototype was on show in May at the 2006 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas and it caused major hype amongst retailers and manufacturers world wide. Since the show it has been ordered and scheduled to be distributed to more than 10 large Nth American retailers to be offered in over 15,000 stores. The DT series drill proves excellence in design with its aggressive style, line and over mould, and revolutionary engineering with its patented Power-Tite™ chuck and Drill nose cone. The Power-Tite™ chuck which spins internally not only eliminates any moving parts but also provides easier and stronger clamping when changing drill bits. The main complaint in the market for cordless drills is drill bit slippage due to lack of tightening torque on a conventional keyless chuck. The average tightening torque on keyless chucks is 4nM, where as the Power-Tite™ chuck will average 10 N.m. Thus providing a tighter clamping force on the drill bit to eliminate any annoying slippage when operating. The Power-Tite™ chuck has a patented mechanical torque control mechanism which allows the motor to operate the opening and closing of the chuck. To open and close the chuck the operator simply selects Chuck Adjust (CA) mode, then selects forward to close, and reverse to open chuck jaws. This operation is helpful to those who are weaker or elderly who may struggle to clamp the chuck tight enough when using a conventional cordless drill.
