Product Manufacturer Product Description and Principal Function(s) The RockTop Floor waste is designed specifically for use with waterproofing membranes in wet areas. It comprises of several components, each designed to overcome common problems encountered in the industry. Therefore the principle function is a holistic approach to solving these issues, addressing the following:1. Leaning Waste Pipes 2. Variations in Tile Bed Thickness 3. Secure means of membrane attachment 4. Substrate drainage 5. Preventing foreign material entering the system 6. Preventing damage to the Grate Top 7. Grate Top options (ie. PVC, Metal) and adaptability Industry experience and extensive product use has shown our solutions to these problems to be practical and effective. Key Product Features and Benefits The RockTop floor waste solves recurring problems in the construction industry unrepresented by competitors in the market. The Building Services Authority of Australia recognize leaks in wet area rooms correlating to improper waterproofing around the floor waste is a major area of building fault. RockTop is the complete floor waste, an easy to use tool comprising the full array of necessary features to eradicate these faults.At market release, RockTop was unique in design and function, holding one Australian patent. Further refinements have meant RockTop holds 3 Australian patents encompassing the following: 1. Membrane Clamp: The RockTop physically attaches waterproof membranes to the waste by use of a connecting device we call our Membrane Clamp. Traditionally, waterproofers have relied on membranes to ‘stick’ to the Flange. This device secures wet waterproof membranes onto the flange during application. Many waterproof materials do not adhere properly or permanently to the waste, and under stress (structural movement, chemicals in cleaning agents, poor bonding), membranes can release from the Flange, whereas, RockTop’s Membrane Clamp will hold the membrane. 2. Pivoting Top: The socket design of our Grate Top pivots (8°), to overcome leans in the waste pipe, unsymmetrical tiles and varying tile bed size. 3. Protecting Caps: Transparent protecting caps that are noticeably fine at the outer edges. These protection caps, not only prevent waste material entering the waste pipe throughout construction, but also allow tilers and other trades to leave the grate top in situ throughout their work. Other clever product attributes are the flange shape and texture, drainage capacity, interchangeability of grates and height adjustability. The flange’s abrasive texture allows waterproof membranes a rigid surface to adhere to and a recessed centre section ensures the drainage points fall below floor level. ‘Weep Holes’ and ‘Weep Slots’ increase drainage. Better drainage prevents tile saturation placing waterproofing under continued stress and avoids tile and grout discolouration. The grate tops in various sizes, material and colour are interchangeable to the Base unit: effective if clients wish to switch Grates and important as this the only component the end user will see. In hindsight, we would have protected other original concepts; many imitated by competitors now, including ‘Weep Slots’ on the Riser, wide body - textured flanges, protecting caps, maneuverability and interchangeability of the Grate Top. This flattery is fair endorsement of RockTop’s ingenuity and reinvention of the industry. RockTop outsources the manufacture of UPVC and Brass components (preferred materials in the industry) to quality Australian manufacturers, themselves adhering to quality programs. WaterMark accreditation and yearly audits ensure adherence to the Australian standard including MP52, AS1589, AS1260, AS1254 and AS3740. RockTop needs to be durable, required to outlast the years of use wet area rooms endures before refurbishment. RockTop presents in retail shops in clear individual plastic bags. The end user can easily view the particular Grate top before buying, also protecting the product from dust and scuffing in showrooms and retail outlets. |
