Product Manufacturer Product Description and Principal Function(s) The Berocca® Twist ‘N’ Go is a new generation of energy drink. Typically, some vitamins degrade when exposed to water and are therefore difficult to deliver pre-mixed, but using a revolutionary dispensing closure design, Berocca® Twist ‘N’ Go offers a healthier alternative to many of the competing products in the convenience market. When the lid (closure) is twisted, a Berocca® Performance tablet is instantly dispensed into purified water. What was once water is suddenly transformed into a burst of healthy energy with the familiar smell, taste and “fizz” associated with a Berocca® Performance effervescent tablet.Key Product Features and Benefits InnovationTwist‘N’Go is a revolution in drink packaging. The innovation lies in the bottle closure (lid), which isolates moisture sensitive vitamins, enabling consumers to effortlessly dispense a concealed tablet into purified water to produce a healthy energy drink. A patented cutting mechanism engages when the closure is applied to the bottle. Removing the closure in a single intuitive action cuts open the blister and dispenses the tablet. The world-first closure has been designed to suit automated cGMP assembly and filling on custom designed, fully automated equipment. The closure design and operation is covered by various patents held across the world. Visual/Emotional Appeal Twist‘N’Go has been designed to ensure customer’s expectations associated with the existing Berocca® products are met. The label, containing necessary information for consumer in familiar, strong Beroccaâ brand colours, employs transparent areas, allowing the consumer to have a “WOW, what just happened” experience, seeing the colour change as the tablet dissolves. Also, the “FIZZ” associated with freshness of a drink produced “on-demand” will be seen and experienced.Significant consideration has also been given to ensure:- ease of use (single, intuitive twist action)- visually appealing, comfortable to handle bottle styling- colour coded cap / label matching flavour Functionality Extensive focus group workshops and user trials were conducted to ensure that the new design met with consumer needs and expectations. Substantial functional and regulatory testing, in conjunction with trialing of the associated custom-closure assembly equipment ensured product reliability and consumer and product safetybased upon minimization of associated risks. On the basis of this extensive testing, undertaken across all aspects associated with the product, there is confidence the product performance and quality will remain uniformly high. Quality and Manufacture The product employs “fit for purpose” plastic components, manufactured using quality materials and tooling operated in world class facilities. Tablets are manufactured and packaged in Switzerland, under strict controls, ensuring regulatory and shelf-life compliance. The closure is assembled using custom designed, fully automated production equipment with a range of in-built inspection systems to ensure necessary quality. This equipment, along with bottle filling and capping equipment are operated under cGMP conditions. The extensive design, development and testing effort has culminated in the creation of a premium quality and robust product, ensuring the consumer enjoys the Berocca® experience each and every time. Human Factors: Ergonomics, Semantics and Safety Other than unscrewing the closure, there is no additional consumer interaction required to dispense the tablet. Extensive testing has shown that the product’s semantics are easily understood and that it’s comfortable to use. Substantial testing was undertaken to ensure product reliability and consumer & product safety based upon materials selection and minimization of associated risks. Careful design of the blister and cutting mechanism ensures there’s no risk of foil falling into the water. Twist‘N’Go has been designed to comply with all relevant standards, including: Pharmaceutical grade manufacturing & packaging (tablet/blister) cGMP assembly and filling processes (TGA certified facility) |
