Product Description and Principal Function(s)

Warrior is a cheeky, lightweight and durable stool manufactured from a single material – expanded polypropylene (EPP) - a lightweight polymer that is completely odorless, hypoallergenic, emission-free and 100% recyclable. The cushion seat is available in three bright contemporary colours as well as a neutral grey. The two parts of warrior are fused together with hot air eliminating the need for any glues or screws.

Warrior provides a stylish and ergonomic short-term seating solution for the corporate, hospitality and domestic markets including office breakout areas, informal dining, café seating, and for the home.

Key Product Features and Benefits

Warrior is a new product that incorporates an original and innovative design using a lightweight, recyclable material (EPP). Thinking Ergonomix first realised the potential of this material while assessing it for other product possibilities and determined that because of its excellent strength-to-weight ratio it would be particularly suited to a light-weight seating solution. The EPP material used on the top component is also slightly springy making for a perfect cushion.

Warrior is a product with visual appeal based on its simplicity. The stance of warrior recalls an oversized samurai or Lego-man helmet (hence the name) or possibly even a sumo wrestler assuming a squat position. The top face of the warrior stool is just a little bit cheeky too… can you see it? To match the irreverence of it shape and to complement a wider range of interiors warrior is available in four colours including lime (green), tangerine (orange), blueberry (mid-blue) and slate (grey).

Warrior is suitable for casual seating requirements in the corporate, hospitality and domestic environment including office breakout areas, informal dining, café seating, or at home. Warrior is extremely easy to move by one person and can be stacked and stored as required. Despite weighing less than 1.5kg, warrior has been load tested to over 300kg without failure.

Warrior can be used outdoors but is most suited to being an interior product. As warrior is so light and easy to move we suggest it is removed from direct sunlight when not in use. Warrior is 100% waterproof and chemically inert – if any liquid is spilled onto it it can be wiped down with a clean damp cloth. Indeed if warrior gets really dirty he can simply be hosed off, shaken and towel dried.

Both parts used in warrior are molded in single line-of-draw open/shut tooling which both prolongs tooling life and minimises part rejection rates. There has been close liaison between the design team and the manufacturer to develop inspection techniques that ensure production quality meets global standards for this type of product. Warrior comes with a 2 year warranty, excluding reasonable wear and tear.

Warrior stands at a comfortable height for sitting and his wide leg stance allows the user to tuck their feet comfortably under. The foam material provides additional softness and tactile feel compared to the more traditional plastic stool made from rigid rotationally molded polypropylene. Multiple structural ribs on the underside of the stool give the product great strength whilst remaining completely unseen.

Warrior is constructed from one material only – Arpro® brand EPP. The manufacture of Arpro® beads requires no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), hydrocarbons or other compounds that are recognized as most damaging to the environment. ARPRO® is not produced with butane or pentane, which are commonly used for the expansion of plastics, and which contain VOCs and thus contribute to ozone depletion.

At the end of its useful life Warrior can be returned to Thinking Ergonomix for recycling at no charge.
