Product Manufacturer Product Description and Principal Function(s) The M8 Intensive Care Bed is a fully integrated intensive care bed suited for the modern intensive care environment. Research shows that end users need safe, practical, innovative and intuitive solutions we term Simple Smart & Human. The bed is fully electric featuring a contouring deck to enable a full cardiac chair to be achieved while maximising patient comfort. It features a fully radiolucent deck and a specific twin column asymmetric base enabling X-ray and image intensifier use while the patient remains in the bed. The bed is constructed from steel, aluminium and a range of high performance recyclable plastics.Key Product Features and Benefits X-ray and C-arm image intensifier capability.A major issue in the intensive care unit is the need to move patients onto specialist tables to perform certain procedures. This leads to increased handling demands on the medical professional and an increase in trauma and discomfort for the patient. The M8 has been specifically designed to enable imaging procedures such as general X-ray, chest X-ray and C-arm use while the patient remains in bed. The bed is a twin column asymmetric design permitting the transmitter of the C-arm to be easily positioned beneath the patient and the receiver placed directly adjacent to the patient resulting in superior imaging. Positioning. The M8 Intensive Care Bed is fully electric. Using a single button the bed will automatically contour to form a full cardiac chair. Angles and proportions have been selected to suit patients of all sizes, ranging from the shortest/smallest to the tallest/largest person up to 250kg. The bed features a sliding backrest and sliding leg raise and in combination with clever software this results in greater patient comfort and minimizes the need for the medical professional to manually reposition the patient in the bed Easy to clean. The Intensive Care environment needs to be hygienic and is monitored and cleaned regularly to ensure bacteria and infection is not a factor for healing. The M8 Intensive Care Bed has ABS covers that conceal the bed in a closed design, preventing dust, viral and bacterial accumulation whilst facilitating the cleaning process. Maneuverability. The 5th wheel design in the center of the bed can be activated by a simple foot pedal. The bed can then pivot around this central wheel allowing a single caregiver to maneuver the patient and bed thereby reducing the amount of force required in pushing the patient and the number of staff. Simplicity. Intensive Care is an increasingly complex environment; there is a lot of intricate equipment surrounding the patient. The M8 creates a friendly and clean environment for the patient and has simple, intuitive one touch operations to operate the bed. |
