It can be configured to suit specific system operators. The principal function is to provide emergency roadside communication with emergency services. The Wayphone is an emergency communication system, so it must be highly visible, and intuitive and simple to use. The controls, microphone and speaker must be at a height accessible by all members of the community. The external form is a visually strong pedestal, presented in a strong colour for maximum recognition.
